6ack20 is a project by independent composer/producer Hans van Maaren.
During Covid Lockdown I’ve started playing and writing music, and it’s been a total reset for me. That's why I release my music under the project name "6ack20" - Back to Zero.
I’m intentionally leaning into the "messy" side of creativity—focusing on raw ideas and expression instead of trying to be perfect. There’s something so rewarding about just following a feeling and seeing what I can create from scratch.

This album is a collection of electronic soundscapes created for scenes that don’t exist—at least, not yet.
With "Music for a Film", I wanted to see how sound can build a world. Most of these tracks were written by imagining fictional movies, but "Wilder" is different. It was inspired by the 1927 classic Metropolis. The title is a nod to the "wild" energy of the track, but also a tribute to the laboratory scenes in Metropolis that influenced films like Gene Wilder’s Young Frankenstein.

"Anything Goes Under the Sun" falls somewhere between an Album and an EP. The tracks are Jazz and Jazz Fusion, representing my first taste of this genre.
